DWF Labs is teaming up with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) for a new educational project on tokenized securities. As a key player in the crypto world, DWF Labs will be the focus of a study in an upcoming book called The STO Financial Revolution. This work is a new way to learn about blockchain tech and is led by UCLA professor Alex Nascimento.
The goal of this collaboration is to help spread understanding about tokenization and security token offerings (STOs), according to Andrei Grachev, the boss of DWF Labs. Grachev said that they are thrilled to share their expertise and play a role in shaping the future of the industry.
Tokenized securities are financial stuff created on the blockchain to make them easier to get hold of, and they’re part of the wider world of real-world asset (RWA) tokenization. Some of the world’s top financial organizations and business advisers think the RWA arena could grow by more than 50 times by 2030, possibly hitting over $30 trillion.
More and more places of learning are recognizing how transformative blockchain tech can be. Universities see blockchain as a really important platform for the future. DWF Labs’ Grachev says this is for two main reasons: we need to equip future pros with the skills and knowledge to make the most of the blockchain-focused economy, and schools are answering the call from students and industries for advanced insight into blockchain’s potential to increase transparency, security, and inclusivity within financial systems.
Besides UCLA, DWF Labs plans to join forces with more research and educational groups to push blockchain education.
Most companies guess that the RWA sector could swell to between $4 trillion and $30 trillion. If we were to aim for the middle estimate of around $10 trillion, this would represent a growth of more than 54 times from its current value of around $185 billion, including the so-called “stablecoin” market. As the industry matures, the RWA sector could start to include more of the global financial markets, reshaping how people invest, trade, and own assets in these markets, according to a research report by Tren Finance.
However, stablecoins still occupy the biggest part of the RWA sector, making up over $170 billion of the market as of October 2024. In contrast, securities and treasuries tokenized onchain are valued at $2.2 billion.
